On my unit the noise is the same volume at all times, so it's easy to drown out by making the deepmind volume loud, and then the interface sensitivity should be low enough it won't pick up the noise. I like a more immediate and raw sound which i can put through some pedals if i need too. A complexity that some people seem to be overlooking is that it's a polysynth meaning adding the input to a single voice doesn't lead to very intuitive behaviour, and distributing it to all of them is going to be a lot more work (12x as much). I bought a preset set that has given me drastically more use - much more suitable starting points for me to begin tweaking. Not like anything after it. The Korg's a screamer and I love it for leads and basses. TRS literally means tip ring sleeve but it doesn’t mean “stereo cable” though that would be a use. One is a 4 voiced paraphonic synth, the other is a full-fledged 12 voiced polysynth, with an extensive mod matrix and effects section. That being said, be sure to check out all of the effects on the DeepMind 12. As for the pro/cons from a beginner standpoint it's probably going to manifest more on a case by case basis, ie, don't worry about it, just use the different options to see what works best. When I try to tune the filter/resonance to produce a tone without any oscillator turned on, I notice that the voices are not all producing the exact same tone. I think I'm answering my own question when I say this, but the deepmind 12 has 12 voices. the Deepmind 12 sounds great, but the second oscillator is square wave only (with a "tone" slider) so keep that in mind. It can't be compared. Only three destinations. Midi can be sent over multiple formats, it's still midi. Knob per function and I love the sounds. Tighten them firmly but do not overtighten them so the PCB gets damaged. Just twiddling parameters will give mediocre results with that synth. You have 1024 presets, many are duplicates. if you want big super saw sounds you might actually want to go for a VA synth since they tend to be a lot cheaper per voice. Deepmind 12 is fantastic, but you have to know what you're doing to get the best results with it. I have not yet tried a blofeld but the DM12, it's fine, but I don't know about it's trance abilities. The deepmind sounds great,has tons of controls knob per,its easy to edit and had a great editing app which i use with a touch screen,adding fx and such is so easy.
